Dr. Lenka IvantysynovaResearcher and IT strategy consultantContact: mail: ![]() |
Since December 2009 I am postdoc at the Research Group Computer Science at the University of Potsdam. My research focuses on IT strategy; in particular, on the use of information technologies, such as RFID, in industrial production. Between July 2005 and November 2009 I was a research assistant at the Institute of Information Systems at the Humboldt Univeristy, Berlin, Germany. In 2008, I completed my doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol) with summa cum laude (with highest honor). The topic of my dissertation was "RFID in Manufacturing: Mapping the Shop Floor to IT-Enabled Business Processes". Before that I studied computer science (Diploma) from October 2000 till June 2005 at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. For my diploma thesis I developed a schema matcher for DaimlerChrysler Research in Ulm, Germany. During my studies I worked as a research assistant at the Ferdinand Braun Institute, asis GmbH and at the Institute of Information Systems at the Humboldt University, Berlin. In 2003 I received the first prize of the Microsoft .NET contest where my team developed a distributed calendar tool.
From December 2009: Technical lead of the research project: Multimedia-Retrieval . The aim of the project is to develop tools, which enable us to create functions for content-based navigation in multimedia data.
From July 2007 till December 2008: Technical lead of the research project: Production Data Collection. The aim of this project is to provide an in-depth analysis of the state of the art in manufacturing operations management. Future demands in manufacturing lead more data collection and processing on all IT system levels. One reason for this trend is also the increasing use of RFID and sensor technology on thze shop floor. For an optimal processing of collected production data we need a tighter integration of the different manufacturing IT system (ERP, MES, PDC, SCADA, PLC). In cooperation with SAP Research we analyze the state-of-the-art in manufacturing production data collection (PDC) and we identify manufacturers’ current problems and demands with PDC. Here we also conduct several case studies, develop new PDC solutions, and evaluate how to adopt RFID in manufacturing. This project extends the previous project RFID and sensor data in manufacturing. For more information please visit Production Data Collection in Manufacturing The project is funded by SAP AG.
From July 2005 till July 2007: Technical lead of the research project: RFID and sensor data in manufacturing: Mechanisms and standards for data capturing, data management, and ERP integration. The project was funded by SAP Research and conducted at the Institute of Information Systems, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In cooperation with the MPDV Microlab GmbH we have conducted in total six case studies from industry. In the case studies we have analysed whether the use of RFID in production can bring competive advantages for the companies. The results of this project will soon be published in the book "RFID in Manufacturing" by Springer. For more information on the project please visit the project website: Case Studies RFID in Manufacturing.
